Here's the downside though, you have to have a certain amount of honors courses to stay in honors and to graduate with honors. Engineering has very few upperclassmen level honors classes. In total I had to take 9 hours (3 classes) that did not count towards my degree at all because I needed more honors hours to graduate with honors.

I have a 32 ACT composite and a 2.7 unweighted high school GPA, but I will have taken 12 classes via dual enrollment (32 credit hours) during high school.

Nov 1, 2016 · The basic bonuses of the honors college is the Honors scholarships you can apply for after your first semester, better dorms, and then smaller classes. There is a cost for these though. You have to take a FYE course that all Honors Freshman are required to take. It's a course that will drag you through hell.

Also, signing up for classes early is a real treat. Coming from an Honors senior- if it lines up with your degree plan, absolutely do it.

This is the only time you cannot register early and after this you get to register either the same day as juniors, or between seniors and juniors, I can't recall exactly, it's been a few years. But you'll never get to register before seniors being in honors college.

Nov 22, 2019 · I would definitely say the honors college is very geared towards stem majors (esp pre-med) and liberal arts. However, I’m a business major and have been able to knock out my basics (astronomy, chemistry, arts credit) and some upper level electives (marketing, managerial accounting, business economics) as honors sections. I really like it.
