A tornado warning for parts of South Jersey expired as heavy storms moved through the Delaware Valley, leading to severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings for the entire CBS News Philadelphia viewing area.

A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Salem, Gloucester and Camden counties on Thursday afternoon as severe storms slam the state. The warning is active through 3:45 p.m. Severe storms hitting New Jersey have triggered numerous flood and thunderstorm warnings. An earlier tornado warning has expired.

Acting New Jersey Gov. Tahesha Way declared that a State of Emergency will go into effect in preparation for potential flash flooding, severe storms, intense rainfall and damaging wind gusts.
