Southeast Texas has been hit hard with severe rain as heavy storms continue to sweep through the area, with some areas reporting up to 10 inches of rainfall. Flash flood warnings are in effect across the region as emergency crews brace for additional severe weather.

At least five people have been pronounced dead and two people are missing amid flash flooding in San Antonio, Texas, authorities have confirmed.

The situation turned dire overnight as a half-foot or more of rainfall led to fast-moving floodwaters in parts of San Antonio and neighboring communities.
