OpenAI’s new study mode for ChatGPT throws questions back at students, but the learning feature doesn’t address generative AI’s underlying disruption of education.

ChatGPT now has a dedicated Study Mode, but students are going to have to stop using AI to cheat on tests and homework to get any use out of it.

To use Study mode, you can choose a subject (like biology, history or statistics), set your level of knowledge (beginner, intermediate or advanced) and even tell the AI how you want to study such as with flashcards, Q&A, breakdowns of concepts or practice problems.
