When Rex Ryan was head coach of the Jets, the team reached the AFC Title game in each of the first two years. After that, though, New York struggled. Ryan finished 46-50 in six seasons with the franchise.

Ryan joined ESPN Radio the day before he will speak with the Jets. During his chat, Ryan said he “100 percent” thinks he is going to be hired in New York. Simply put, the always-confident man thinks he’s the No.1 person for the job.

Rex Ryan has returned to the New York Jets — for an interview, at least. The former Jets coach and current ESPN analyst, who led the franchise to its last playoff appearance to cap the 2010 season, met with the team Tuesday about its head coaching vacancy.
