A small boat believed to be carrying migrants capsized early Monday off the coast of San Diego, leaving at least three people dead and four others injured. The U.S. Coast Guard said early Tuesday that crews has suspended a search for at least seven others who were missing.

At least three people are dead and nine other people remain unaccounted for, including two children, U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson Hunter Schnabel told USA TODAY. Crews responded to a report of an overturned vessel on the shores of Torrey Pines State Beach off the coast of Del Mar shortly after 6:30 a.m. local time, officials told KABC-TV.
