Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Evans earned the win on Sunday in his major league debut. Taking the roster spot of the injured Logan Gilbert, Evans went five innings, giving up two earned runs on two hits.

Evans was named to the Seattle Mariners’ 40-man roster and got the nod to start against the Miami Marlins on Sunday, giving the rookie right-hander little time to get out any jitters. After forcing two ground outs to start the game, the former Saline baseball star gave up a home run in the first inning to Miami Marlins’ slugger Austin Ramirez.
