The Miami Heat are trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors, CBS Sports NBA insider Bill Reiter confirmed. The deal comes on the eve of the 2025 NBA trade deadline and will send Butler to the Bay Area in exchange for Andrew Wiggins ,

Even though Jimmy Butler informed the Warriors he would not sign an extension if he was traded there, the six-time All-Star landed there anyway. Moments after the news broke that Butler was traded from the Heat to the Warriors, however, he reportedly agreed to a two-year extension with the franchise anyway.

Charania reports that, as part of the Butler trade, the Heat are sending Josh Richardson and Lindy Waters III to the Detroit Pistons. The NBA insider also reports that Butler has agreed to a new two-year, $121 million extension with the Warriors that runs through the 2026-27 season, and is declining his player option for the 2025-26 season.
