As global aerospace giants Dassault and CAC saw opposing share movements amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, India's Nifty Defence index surged by 4.32 per cent on Tuesday, defying an overall market slump.

Indian shares logged their best session in more than four years on Monday, surging nearly 4% in a broad-based relief rally after the country reached and held a fragile ceasefire with Pakistan over the weekend after days of cross-border clashes.

The neighbors had agreed to a full and immediate cease-fire in the worst violence between them for more than two decades.
