Japanese boxers Shigetoshi Kotari and Hiromasa Urakawa have died from brain injuries suffered during separate fights at an Aug. 2 match in Tokyo.

Hiromasa Urakawa has died from injuries sustained in his August 2 bout with Yoji Saito at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall, coming just days after the death of Shigetoshi Kotari at the same event.

The Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) said earlier this month that both fighters had undergone surgery for subdural hematoma after their bouts.
