Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Tuesday that 14 Mexican nationals were being held at the U.S. "Alligator Alcatraz" detention center and that her government was seeking their repatriation.

Two Italian nationals living in the United States are among the inmates currently being held at the ICE detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz” in Florida, according to Italy’s foreign ministry.

Nearly three dozen 911 calls have been made from an immigrant detention center in the Florida Everglades and new records are shedding some light on what the calls are about. Since July 1, when the state-run facility dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz" opened, there have been 34 calls, an average of two per day.

Michael Borrego had been sleeping in one of the chain-link cages in Alligator Alcatraz when he woke up in a pool of his own blood.
