Manchester United’s striker search appears to favour youth over experience after The Athletic reported that they are prioritising a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

While there is no doubt United are looking at the prospect of signing Sesko based on his potential, he does have an impressive record for a player of his age. Although he is two years older than Hojlund was when he joined United, the Leipzig striker's record is a lot more attractive.

Watkins would be signed with the intention to make an immediate impact, especially as he is firmly in his prime years at 29 years old, but with Aston Villa reportedly wanting £60m for the striker, Man Utd may be hesitant to spend such a significant sum on a player who provides limited long-term upside.
