With Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis both injured, the Patriots got a long look at some of their less heralded cornerbacks in Tuesday’s practice.

The first padded practice of this training camp was an unexpectedly eventful one, as cornerback Christian Gonzalez left the field early after suffering an apparent lower body injury. With Carlton Davis already out, the Patriots’ cornerback depth took an early hit.

Gonzalez suffered the injury while covering wide receiver Stefon Diggs during the 11-on-11 portion of practice.
