WINNIPEG -- Dylan DeMelo broke a tie with 27 seconds remaining, and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 at Canada Life Centre on Thursday. DeMelo, who was playing in his 600th NHL game, scored with a wrist shot when Nikolaj Ehlers found him toward the high slot.

The Jets found an unlikely hero Thursday night. Defenceman Dylan DeMelo scored the winner with 27 seconds left to give Winnipeg a 2-1 triumph over the Seattle Kraken before 13,559 fans at Canada Life Centre.

The Seattle Kraken travelled to the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 16 for the last game of their road trip. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the third. It was ultimately the Jets who took the win, 2-1, at the last possible second.
