A power outage hit several areas of the Spanish island of La Palma in the Canary archipelago on Thursday, the local council said in a post on the social media platform X.

The island was not affected by the massive blackout that hit most of Spain and Portugal on April 28. Last week, another huge power outage affected large areas of Spain and Portugal, including their capitals, Madrid and Lisbon. Spain experienced a widespread power outage that left millions without electricity for nearly a full 24 hours. While power has largely been restored, the cause of the failure is still under investigation.
