But that hasn’t stopped the online rumor mills. Log onto Facebook and there are several groups dedicated to a "New England serial killer" who they believe is targeting middle-aged women.

The New England Serial Killer Facebook group, which has 65,300 members, has garnered more than 15,000 new members this month, as MassLive.com first reported.
