DC Studios has finally found a director to mold Clayface. After several months of searching, Speak No Evil helmer James Watkins has been chosen to direct the feature based on the Batman villain, which has a script from horror maestro Mike Flanagan.

James Watkins, who directed 2024's “Speak No Evil” for Universal, is in talks to direct "Clayface" for DC Studios, TheWrap has learned.

James Watkins is set to direct Clayface, DC’s creature feature scripted by Mike Flanagan, sources have confirmed to Deadline. DC Studios declined to comment.

The former DCEU (which is streaming with a Max subscription) ended, and co-CEO James Gunn is crafting a new DC shared universe. While Gunn met with director Zack Snyder, he also confirmed on social media that he's planning his own crossover project for Batman and Superman.
