Would an extra $800 a year help? New bill aims to ease the strain of flood insurance with tax relief for middle-income homeowners

A flood advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 5:57 p.m. EDT in effect until Friday at midnight EDT for Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties.

The ingredients that led to the Hill Country disaster — steep terrain, swollen rivers and unsuspecting people in harm’s way — are not unique to Texas.

On Thursday at 4:54 p.m. a flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 8 p.m. The advisory is for Clay, Caldwell, Carroll, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Grundy, Livingston and Ray counties.

A flood advisory was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC on Thursday at 4:57 p.m. in effect until 7 p.m. for Carteret County.

On Thursday at 4:43 p.m. the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC issued a flood advisory in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Onslow County.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory at 11:22 a.m. on Thursday in effect until 2:30 p.m. for Baldwin County.

Multiple rounds of storms are expected to bring excessive rainfall to the Kansas City area. Some areas could see more than 4 inches of rain.
