Filmmaker Gurinder Chadha confirmed that a sequel to 2003 soccer movie 'Bend It Like Beckham' is in the works, with hopes for the original cast.

Director Gurinder Chadha and her husband, Paul Mayeda Berges, with whom she cowrote the original, are working on the script.

The film starred Parminder Nagra as Jess and Keira Knightley as Jules, two women with a passion for soccer who end up on a team and strike up a friendship. The film sees Jules fall for a coach while Jess sneaks around playing the game against her parents' wishes.
