EDMONTON -- The Florida Panthers are one win from repeating as Stanley Cup champions, but they’re still learning, still improving. They showed it in a 5-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final at Rogers Place on Saturday, taking a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The Panthers take lessons learned from not immediately closing out Oilers last year into Game 6 with chance to win it at home.

Following their 5-2 win Saturday in Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Final rematch against the Oilers, the Panthers have a 3-2 series lead over Edmonton. Florida can clinch its second consecutive title as early as Tuesday, when it plays Game 6 on home ice at Amerant Bank Arena (8 p.m., TNT, truTV, Max).

Production and energy from their third and fourth lines have helped the Florida Panthers get on the verge of winning the Stanley Cup again.

Wade averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists during the finals, winning MVP behind his strong efforts. He averaged 39.25 in the last four games of the series, effectively sweeping the Dallas Mavericks after falling behind by two games.
