Byron Leftwich, a former NFL quarterback, two-time Super Bowl winner and recently Tom Brady’s offensive coordinator with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, interviewed for the same job with the Seahawks recently. CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported that Friday.

Macdonald fired Ryan Grubb last week. The move came one day after the former University of Washington offensive coordinator finished his only season as Seattle’s OC. The Seahawks missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season, the first time that’s happened since the 2008-’09 seasons.

In late December it was announced Carroll was interested in the Bears’ top job, and he even recently completed an interview with Chicago.
