MIAMI - An investigation is underway after a human smuggling event in Coral Gables. The joint investigation is being conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and local police.
Nearly 30 people were taken into custody in Coral Gables Friday as part of an investigation into a possible human smuggling or trafficking operation, authorities said.
