President Donald Trump's administration ended USAID foreign assistance on Tuesday, with the State Department assuming control over remaining programs.

The U.S. Agency for International Development will on Tuesday officially stop implementing foreign aid, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, adding that America's assistance in the future will be targeted and limited.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the official end of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on Tuesday, after rapidly dismantling the government’s foreign aid arm since President Trump’s return to the White House.

"Somebody who would really be great is Lara, she grew up there," Trump said of his daughter-in-law in discussing the North Carolina Senate seat.
