Valve has a solution for you. A big new update to SteamOS, the operating system powering handheld Steam Deck gaming devices around the world, dropped this week, and it brought with it the ability to install the specialized OS on competing devices.

Valve officially added support for the Lenovo Legion Go S in its latest SteamOS release. The handheld, which begins shipping this weekend, is the first hardware other than the Steam Deck to formally run Valve's gaming-centric operating system.

Initially, that's the Lenovo Legion Go S, the first partner handheld to ship with SteamOS, and which is releasing imminently. This handheld has full support, while there is "expanded support" for other handhelds, including the Legion Go and ROG Ally.
