A former Gabriel House resident filed a lawsuit in Bristol County Superior Court after he was seriously injured in a fire that killed 10 people on July 13. Steven Oldrid lived at the Fall River assisted living facility prior to the fire. He was in a studio apartment when the fire started.

Rescuing residents of Gabriel House was difficult because of window AC units — often a violation of building code that's difficult to enforce.

On Saturday, 66-year-old Brenda Cropper’s niece, Priscilla Andrade, visited the memorial for the first time since the fire. She was with her aunt hours before the flames erupted.
