Several Minnesota families saw justice served on Thursday morning after five young women were killed in a high-speed crash two summers ago in Minneapolis.

Derrick Thompson on Thursday was sentenced to more than 58 years in prison for a 2023 crash that killed five women in south Minneapolis.

Thompson will likely spend about 37 years in prison after being given a 58-year sentence by a Hennepin County judge.
