In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, UnitedHealth said it has "full confidence" in its practices. It added that a court-appointed monitor found no wrongdoing after a decade-long probe into its Medicare Advantage business.
For the full year, UnitedHealth’s net income fell 36% to $14.4 billion – its first annual profit decline in nearly a decade. The company cited the impact of a cyberattack on its Change Healthcare unit early in 2024, which resulted in over $2 billion in direct costs and widespread operational disruption.
UnitedHealth Group says it is cooperating with federal criminal and civil investigations involving its market-leading Medicare business.
