Pape Matar Sarr scored a stunning goal from halfway to give Tottenham a 1-0 victory over north London rivals Arsenal in a pre-season friendly held in Hong Kong. Sarr intercepted Myles Lewis-Skelly, who Arsenal believed had been fouled by Richarlison in midfield.

Viktor Gyokeres got his first taste of Arsenal football just five days after joining up with his new teammates, but struggled to influence the play in a 13-minute cameo as the Gunners chased an opener. He will have another opportunity to find his first Arsenal goal as Villarreal visit the Emirates next week.

The Spurs midfielder scored the game’s only goal in the 45th minute, spotting David Raya off his line and lobbing him from a long, long way out. There was a decent tempo to the game in the first half but both sides lost their rhythm a little in the second.
