Alaska Airlines is planning to start its first flights to Europe from Seattle, which will add Rome as a destination.

Next spring, travelers will be able to fly nonstop from Seattle to Rome for the first time ever. Alaska Airlines announced the addition to its routes on Tuesday.

Rome flights next year. The four-times-a-week nonstop service is set to begin in May and goes on sale this fall. The carrier has been eager to expand internationally since its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines last year.
