The U.S. Supreme Court has acted in a series of cases involving challenges to executive orders signed by President Donald Trump and actions by his administration since he returned to office in January.

Lower courts had blocked the policy, saying it was not supported by evidence and violated equal protection principles.

The Trump administration on Thursday urged the Supreme Court to allow it to enforce a ban on transgender service members in the military.
