Just days after Hurricane Erin roared into the history books as a Category 5, another named system has spun up in the Atlantic. Tropical Storm Fernand, the sixth named storm of 2025, formed Saturday afternoon about 405 miles south-southeast of Bermuda,

The hatched areas on the National Hurricane Center's tropical outlook map indicate "areas where a tropical cyclone — which could be a tropical depression, tropical storm or hurricane — could develop," said National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rhome.
