June 7 (UPI) -- SpaceX launched SiriusXM's second new satellite into orbit from Florida early Saturday after five delays. The Falcon 9 lifted off at 12:54 a.m. EDT from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The rocket's first stage came back to Earth about 8.5 minutes later as planned, touching down on the SpaceX drone ship "A Shortfall of Gravitas," which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the eighth launch and landing for this particular booster, according to a SpaceX mission description.

SpaceX launched its first customer mission of the month shortly after midnight on Saturday morning with a Falcon 9 flight heading to a geosynchronous transfer orbit
