Everyone knows the scoop by now. LeBron James is entering his final season under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He turns 41 in December. And his future has as much uncertainty as it has had in a while. Will he retire after the season? Will he go to a new team? Will he be traded sooner? Or will he somehow return to the Lakers?

NBA insider Marc Stein recently shook things up: he said the Golden State Warriors “will remain in the mix” for LeBron James if he ever looks to take his final bow somewhere other than L.A. Stein noted that Golden State showed interest in James during the February 2024 trade deadline and could keep doors open if he decides on a last hurrah with a fresh franchise.
