Wednesday marks the first day U.S. travelers flying domestically will be required to show a Real ID at airports.

You'll need your passport or other approved forms of identification if you haven't gotten your REAL ID by the deadline.The REAL ID isn't mandatory if you aren't traveling, but TSA still recommends getting it in case you end up needing it.

The long awaited deadline for the REAL ID requirement at U.S. airports has arrived, but passengers without the security measure on their identification can still pass through security, but with a catch.

The TSA said things are going smoothly so far at airports nationwide and there have not been any significant disruptions.
