In Juan Soto's return to Yankee Stadium, Yankee fans heavily booed the outfielder throughout the Subway Series, which also included the Bleacher Creatures literally turning their backs on him. To respond, Soto saluted the crowd as if they were cheering for his return.

With only one hit in the Subway Series, Soto couldn’t have picked a worse time to slump. The army of Yankees loyalists crowned him as the new Jose Altuve.
Rivalries are often more for the fans than for the players on the field themselves, and the Subway Series hasn’t always lived up to the hype.
