The state of Minnesota is entering another in a long string of summer days marred by air quality alerts. Poor air quality will continue through Saturday with lingering wildfire smoke from Canada.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Smoky skies and mild temperatures linger Friday, but relief from the air quality is in sight this weekend. The ground level smoke from wildfires in Canada is sticking around Friday, but it’s still a comfortable day with hazy sunshine, light southeasterly winds and highs in the upper 70s.

Canadian wildfire smoke is again prompting a statewide Air Quality Alert with “unhealthy” air already across most of Minnesota according to the Pollution Control Agency. It’s also going to tie the longest stretch of unhealthy air in state history.
