Hurts is certainly used to having a different play caller nearly every season since he entered college, having 12 of them since enrolling as a freshman at the University of Alabama in 2016. The latest is Kevin Patullo, after previous offensive coordinator Kellen Moore left to take a head coaching job with the New Orleans Saints .

The Eagles’ 2024 season didn’t end until Feb. 9, when Philadelphia defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. That didn’t delay Hurts’ preparations for the 2025 NFL season.

Since arriving in the NFL with the Eagles as a second-round pick in 2020, Hurts has had five different play-callers in his five-year career. He's set to work on his sixth this season, with Kevin Patullo being promoted to offensive coordinator.
