"Shifting Gears" is starting off Season 2 by giving Tim Allen fans what they've wanted for years: a "Home Improvement" reunion. Richard Karn, Debbe Dunning and Patricia Richardson will all appear in the first episode of the ABC show when it returns on Oct.

Tim Allen has had a prolific sitcom presence with Home Improvement and Last Man Standing so it only makes sense that his former costars appear on his new show, Shifting Gears. Allen got his start as a comedian in the '70s.

Shifting Gears season 2 is officially rolling out with some nostalgic star power. The ABC sitcom, led by Tim Allen, will premiere its second season on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
