On the Treasure Coast, three "Good Trouble Lives On" protests occurred in Port St. Lucie, Stuart and Vero Beach. Over 1,600 protests were scheduled for July 17, and on the Treasure Coast, hundreds demonstrated.

The Good Trouble Lives On event was organized by Mobilize the Vote, the Cuyahoga Democratic Women's Caucus, SURJ NEO, and Women’s March Cleveland

One protestor, Jim Clark, said he's been attending rallies since the beginning of the year. He said he attended Thursday in response to the defunding of the USAID and the resulting food waste, and funding cuts to public media like NPR. Clark said he protests for the sake of his children and grandchildren.

Tens of thousands of protesters nationwide plan to once again take to the streets to protest President Donald Trump's administration on July 17.

Protests are planned across the nation on Thursday, the anniversary of civil rights icon and Congressman John Lewis’ death. Lewis famously coined the term “good trouble” to describe nonviolent civil disobedience that challenges unjust systems.
