A passenger died on board during an Air France flight from Paris to Boston on Tuesday despite life-saving efforts performed by a doctor on the plane.

Preliminary information suggests Barbara Dipoli, of Topeka, died of a presumed medical episode during the flight, officials said.

Calling it “an unattended death” aboard the flight, Massachusetts State Police said someone called the Crime Scene Services Section about the death.

The individual fell ill shortly after the flight departed from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport on Tuesday, and a doctor onboard was unable to rescue them.
