Andrew Vaughn, a mainstay in the Chicago White Sox lineup since 2021, was sent to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday along with Tim Elko.

The White Sox optioning rookie first baseman Tim Elko to Triple-A Charlotte prior to Friday’s series-opening 4-1 win over the Rangers at Rate Field -- ending an 11-game losing streak to Texas dating back to June 21,

Vaughn was batting only .189, while Elko had only five hits in his first 32 plate appearances as a major-leaguer. The Sox won their first game without the two — a 4-1 victory over the Rangers on Friday night at Rate Field.
