Another year, another NBA All-Star honor for Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics. Tatum was announced as an All-Star starter out of the Eastern Conference for the fifth straight season on Thursday night.

Boston narrowly avoided defeat just down the road in Inglewood on Wednesday, scraping by the shorthanded Clippers in overtime behind some hot 3-point shooting in the extra period — including a crucial late triple from little-used reserve Jaden Springer with 34 seconds to play.

Jaylen Brown scored 25 points, Jayson Tatum added 24 and the Boston Celtics rallied past the Los Angeles Clippers 117-113 in overtime.

It's unclear whether the team was dealing with the aftereffects of the Clippers game, or simply regressing back to bad habits that have plagued it over the past month, but the Celtics did not put up much of a fight against the Lakers.

The Lakers overwhelmed the Celtics right from tipoff, draining 3-pointers while the visitors never looked comfortable offensively. While Los Angeles has endured its ups and downs, the Lakers clearly played the better game Thursday over the Celtics.
